Mt. Spokane Wild advance to title game at American Legion AA baseball tournament

Jeter Schuerman pitched a complete game and the Mt. Spokane Wild advanced to the championship game of the American Legion State AA baseball tournament Wednesday by holding off the Yakima Valley Peppers 4-3 at Gonzaga Prep.

Nate Naccarato had two hits for the Wild, who scored in the bottom of the seventh after the Peppers tied the game by scoring twice in the top of the inning.

Mt. Spokane will play for the title at noon Thursday against the Kennewick Phantoms. Both teams are 5-1 at the tournament.

Kennewick began the day by eliminating the University Titans 10-0.
