Women’s soccer: Washington State’s Mykiaa Minniss, Idaho’s Morgan Crosby earn weekly honors

Washington State freshman center-back Mykiaa Minniss was named Pac-12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week for women’s soccer, the conference announced Tuesday.

WSU senior Maddy Haro won the same award the previous week.

The 22nd-ranked Cougars (3-0) held Minnesota (3-1) to six shots during Sunday’s 2-0 win in Minneapolis.

Minniss also scored her first collegiate goal during the victory. Minniss has played all 271 minutes for the Cougars this season.

WSU will play at Nebraska on Friday.

  • Idaho junior Morgan Crosby earned the first Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week award of her career. Crosby scored twice in Idaho’s 3-1 home victory over Grambling State last Friday. The Vandals (1-2) will travel to Missoula this weekend to play North Dakota on Friday and Vermont on Sunday.
