Steelers LB Ryan Shazier leaves hospital, going home
Injured Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier was released from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center on Thursday, nearly two months after suffering a spinal injury in a victory at Cincinnati on Dec. 4. The two-time Pro Bowler underwent spine stabilization surgery two days later; while he was able to leave the hospital, including visiting Steelers practices and making appearances at Heinz Field for games, he returned each evening. Shazier, 25, posted a picture on Instagram standing alongside Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger shortly after his discharge was announced. Thanking everyone from family to teammates to doctors to fans for their support, Shazier and said he will “continue to work hard and push and find a way back.” – Associated Press
