Gonzaga forward Johnathan Williams has been named one of 10 finalists for the Senior CLASS Award.

The award is for NCAA Division I seniors who excel in four areas: community, classroom, character and competition. CLASS is an acronym for celebrating loyalty and achievement for staying in school. Williams went through the pre-NBA Draft process last summer before opting to return for his senior season.

Williams recently completed his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He’s been involved with N7/Coeur d’Alene Tribe basketball clinics, the Spokane Boys and Girls Club, Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital, VA Medical Center and Camp Goodtimes. He’s also made numerous visits to area elementary schools.

Williams leads the 12th-ranked Zags at 13.6 points and 7.4 rebounds. The Missouri transfer eclipsed 1,000 career points earlier this season and he’s 10 rebounds from reaching 900 in his career.

The other finalists are: Shawn Anderson, Navy; Vladimir Brodziansky, TCU; Jevon Carter, West Virginia; Angel Delgado, Seton Hall; Rob Gray, Houston; A.J. Jacobson, North Dakota State; Justin Johnson, Western Kentucky; Yante Maten, Georgia; and Luke Morrison, Army West Point.

Nationwide fan voting is available through March 19 at the Senior CLASS Award website. Votes from fans, media and Division I coaches will be combined to determine the winners.
