For the first time in the company’s 34-year history, Cirque du Soleil is bringing its trademark acrobatic tricks to the ice in its new production, “Crystal,” which comes to the Spokane Arena May 2-6.

In “Crystal,” the show’s titular lead character travels through a surreal world of her own imagination, coming out on the other side a more confident, liberated and empowered person.

Gymnasts and skaters will perform acrobatics both on the ice and in the air. The show features synchronized skating, freestyle figures and extreme skating as well as swinging trapeze, aerial traps and hand to hand.

Performances are 7:30 p.m. May 2-5, 4:30 p.m. May 5 and 1:30 and 5 p.m. May 6. Tickets are available to Cirque Club members starting Monday at 10 a.m. at www.cirqueclub.com. Presale tickets for Spokane performances go on sale Feb. 23.
