Pepperdine announced that Marty Wilson is out as head coach at season’s end but the Waves showed they’re still competitive in an overtime loss to BYU on Thursday.

It’s been a rough season for the Waves (4-23, 1-14 WCC) and sophomore forward Kameron Edwards, who was sidelined with a concussion in GU’s 89-59 win in Malibu. Edwards posted four 20-point games before the injury. He’s the team’s leader in scoring (14.4) and rebounding (6.1).

The 6-foot-6, 230-pounder has the size and strength to operate inside. He makes 52 percent of his 2-point shots. Gonzaga, which dominated inside (48-14 paint points) in the first meeting, will probably use Killian Tillie or Johnathan Williams on Edwards. Rui Hachimura is a likely option coming off the bench.
