The Fred Meyer Jewelers store at the Spokane Valley Mall is closing later at the end of the business day Saturday.

The company announced the closing in an email to customers last week. The announcement referred customers to the company’s location inside the Fred Meyer store at the corner of Sullivan Road and Sprague Avenue, saying credit card payments, special orders, layaways and repairs may be addressed there.

According to its website, Fred Meyer Jewelers operates more than 300 stores across the country, including four other locations in the Spokane area.
