LAS VEGAS – Junior point guard Josh Perkins ended his dunking dry spell Monday in his 111th career game as a Zag.

Or did he?

Perkins drove the lane in the second half and elevated for a basket that looked more like a layup than a dunk. However, the official stat sheet listed it as a dunk.

“I’ll leave it up to the fans and my teammates,” Perkins said, chuckling. “I nicked it (the rim) with a fingernail, got a little bit of a hand on it. So I won’t count it myself but if the crowd will and fans will and my teammates will, I will.”

Former Zag guard and dunking connoisseur Jeremy Pargo, after seeing a video of the play, will not. He chimed in with a resounding no, and let Perkins know in a text message.

“I ain’t letting him get away with that, LOL,” Pargo tweeted.
