Lakeside soccer coach placed on leave

A Lakeside High School soccer coach is on paid administrative leave pending an undisclosed investigation.

Citing the sensitive nature of the investigation, the district didn’t release the name of the coach.

However, when contacted Friday afternoon, Nine Mile Falls School District Superintendent Brian Talbott said that an assistant would act as head coach Saturday when the Lakeside girls team hosts Cascade of Leavenworth in a regional crossover match at noon.

Chris Windham has been Lakeside’s head coach for boys and girls soccer since 2013.

Windham, 30, is not a school employee. He did not respond to messages left on his cell phone Friday afternoon.

Windham is the director of coaching for the Washington East Soccer Club. He also has worked as an assistant for the boys teams at Lewis and Clark and North Central high schools.

Windham played at Spokane Falls Community College in 2007 and 2008.
