Pac-12 roundup: No. 3 Notre Dame rolls to 12-0 season, beats rival USC 24-17

Ian Book passed for 352 yards, Dexter Williams went 52 yards on a go-ahead touchdown run and No. 3 Notre Dame completed the regular season 12-0 and likely secured a spot in the College Football Playoff with a 24-17 over longtime rival Southern California on Saturday night in Los Angeles.

Chris Finke caught an early TD pass for the Fighting Irish, who showed playoff-level tenacity in rallying from an early 10-point deficit, their largest of the season. Tony Jones Jr. then took a short pass 51 yards for a touchdown with 3:09 to play to finish off Notre Dame’s 10th perfect regular season since 1945, the first since 2012.

Stanford 49, UCLA 42: K.J. Costello threw for 344 yards and a career-high five touchdowns, leading the visiting Cardinal over the Bruins at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

The Cardinal, who have won 11 straight over the Bruins, trailed 42-41 midway through the fourth quarter when the junior threw a 52-yard touchdown pass to Osiris St. Brown. Bryce Love ran it in for the 2-point conversion to put them up by a touchdown.

Arizona State 41, Arizona 40: Eno Benjamin scored on a 22-yard touchdown and the visiting Sun Devils survived a last-second field-goal attempt to top the Wildcats in Tucson, Arizona.

Arizona led 40-21 heading in the fourth quarter after Khalil Tate threw his third TD pass of the game, 8 yards to Tony Ellison.

California 33, Colorado 21: Elijah Hicks and Ashtyn Davis scored on interception returns for touchdown in the first quarter to lead a defense that forced a season-high five turnovers, and the Golden Bears rolled past the visiting Buffaloes in Berkeley, California.

(17) Utah 35, BYU 27: Armand Shyne rushed for two touchdowns as the Utes outscored the Cougars 35-7 in the second half en route a win in Salt Lake City.

Jason Shelley added a passing and rushing score for Utah, which will face Washington in the Pac-12 championship game on Friday.
