Airway Heights police looking for man suspected of child luring

Airway Heights police are looking for a man suspected of child luring after an elementary student reported she was stalked by a 20-to-30-year-old in a white truck.

The Sunset Elementary School student told officers she was walking to school at about 8:50 a.m. when a white pickup truck with four doors and several “colorful stickers in the back window” started following slowly behind her, police said in a news release.

When she reached Skateboard Park north of the school, she said the truck pulled into a parking stall, the passenger door opened and the man said, “Come here,” according to the news release. The girl ran from the park back home.

The girl described the driver as white, about 20 to 40 years old, clean-shaven and wearing sunglasses. He was also wearing a beanie-type stocking cap.

The Cheney School District and Airway Heights Police Department ask anyone with information to call police at 509-244-3707.
