Man dies in southwest Spokane crash

A man died in a crash in southwest Spokane County early Sunday.

Deputies at about 5:45 a.m. found a Honda with a man inside, according to a news release from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

The Honda apparently had been traveling south on Gardner Road when it left the road into a ditch, began to roll and eventually hit a tree.

The man was not wearing a seat belt and speed was a factor in the collision. Impairment also may have been a factor, according to the news release.

No information was available on the man’s identity, except that he was from the area, sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Mark Gregory said.
