Griz Win at Home, Lady Griz Struggle on Road

Shaun Rainey SWX
The Montana Grizzlies men’s basketball team won their third straight Big Sky Conference game 80-69, this time on their home court against the Idaho State Bengals. With senior guard Michael Oguine out with an apparent back injury, the Griz instead turned to redshirt senior forward Jamar Akoh for offensive and defensive production. Akoh poured in 22 points and 17 rebounds, while redshirt senior guard Ahmaad Rorie added 19 points and a career-high nine assists. The Griz move on to 13-6 overall and 6-2 inside conference play. Down south in Pocatello, the Lady Griz were not so lucky as the Bengals ran away with a 50-34 victory. Montana’s fourth loss in the past five games and unfortunately the short handed squad couldn’t overcome their offensive struggles.
