Temperatures for Independence Day are “looking quite nice,” said Travis Wilson meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Spokane.

Along with the temperature reaching 80 degrees, a light wind is expected and some high- and mid-level cloud cover will extend into the night, when Spokane’s temperature will be in the mid- to low 60s, Wilson said.

Thursday morning, higher elevations in the Spokane area could see some scattered showers and thunderstorms, he said.

Coeur d’Alene’s forecast isn’t much different than Spokane’s, Wilson said, except for temperatures a few degrees cooler.
