The Spokane Indians face the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes in the second of a four-game Northwest League series at Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer, Oregon, at 6:35 p.m.

The Indians (3-1) send Florencio Serrano for his first start of the season. The Texas Rangers signed Serrano as a minor league free agent in March and he will make his professional debut.

Player to watch: Maxwell Morales. The slugging first base launched his first homer of the season Monday night, a no-doubt-about-it shot to the opposite field in right-center. The 21-year-old has power to spare – he led the Rangers Arizona League team in homers, RBIs and slugging last year and did the same in the Dominican League the year before.

Last night: Morales hit a two-run homer in a seven-run fourth inning and the Indians beat the Volcanoes 12-7 in the first of a four-game Northwest League series at Volcanoes Stadium on Monday.

Center fielder Obie Ricumstrict came within a home run of the cycle, added two walks and a stolen base and scored three times. Ryan Anderson knocked in a pair and drew two walks as well. Daniel Robert, a 21st round pick of the Rangers in 2017, threw two scoreless innings of relief and struck out four.

Ex-Indians news: Curtis Terry, who last year led the NWL in homers and slugging, won the Low-A South Atlantic League home run derby at its all-star game festivities on Tuesday.

Terry, the Rangers’ 13th round pick in the 2015 draft, shares the Hickory Crawdads (41-25) lead with 15 homers and 47 RBIs over 61 games this season. He’s tied for second in the SAL in homers, is third in RBIs and fourth in slugging.
