Man dies after crashing into tree off Highway 395 north of Kettle Falls

From staff reports

A 52-year-old man died after crashing into a tree off of U.S. Highway 395 in Ferry County on Thursday.

Robert M. Stanley was driving a 2001 Subaru Forester around 2:30 p.m. when the accident occurred 19 miles north of Kettle Falls.

Drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash, according to a Washington State Patrol news release, and Stanley was wearing a seat belt.

The release stated Stanley’s vehicle drifted off the roadway while heading south on the highway, but the cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
