Mrs. Quinn, Who Do The Voodoo You Do So Well?

Compiled By Staff Writer Dan Web

Anthony Quinn’s divorce fight with wife of three decades, Iolanda Quinn, is getting interesting.

Court papers filed by the 81-year-old actor allege that Iolanda hired a private detective “for $25,000 in cash to follow, stalk, photograph and ‘terminate’ my wife’s rival for my affections.”

Quinn claims he left his wife for 34-year-old Kathy Benvin, who bore him a daughter, because, “I had to protect people; my daughter whom I love very much, I had to protect her.”

According to Quinn’s estranged wife, his claims that she performed voodoo rites along with setting up a potential hit on Benvin are “totally ludicrous.”

Sounds like your typical movie-of-the-week.

Performance artist Laurie Anderson on her high-school experiences (in Rolling Stone magazine): “(I was) kind of a workaholic nerd. I was president of the National Honor Society, but I decided I didn’t really want to be a nerd, so I made a big effort and so… cheerleading!”

Judge to model: Come on down and pay your fine

“Price is Right” ex-model Dian Parkinson is not only out the $8 million she was suing former employer Bob Barker for, having dropping her sexualharassment suit, but now she’s out $2,100 more. That’s what she was fined for failing to turn over documents and refusing to answer questions about her health - the reason she cited for backing out of the suit.

Yo ho ho and even a bottle of rum can’t help at this point

There is trouble brewing on the high seas of “Cutthroat Island.” After two months of editing, director Renny Harlin says he needs even more time for post-production on the $60 million film starring his wife Geena Davis. Opening has been pushed back to Thanksgiving and perhaps beyond.

Bo got her wish: She’s no actress, as her films prove

The quote: “I’d do anything to keep from acting. I never wanted to be an actress. I never had any aspiration along those lines.” The speaker: Bo Derek. The source: An interview with the Norfolk Virginia Pilot following the release of her new film “Tommy Boy.”

Seems to us that Aretha sang that tune years ago

Hey, guys, want to know how to impress someone special? Singer Sheryl Crow, perhaps? Do what her steady, screenwriter Joe Blake, does. “He treats me with respect,” Crow crows.
