How Berry Sweet

By now, are you about ready to go into red-and-white withdrawal when it comes to candy canes?

North Country Enterprises in Sandpoint distributes huckleberry-flavored hard candy sticks, as well as caramels, swirls and geographically themed taffy with the inscriptions “I (heart)” Spokane, Washington, Idaho and Montana.

And on this Christmas, if you can’t be in the state you love, then love the state you’re in.

Price: Taffy, about $5 for 14 ounces; caramels, about $4 for 10 ounces; hard candy sticks and candy swirls, about $3 each for 8 ounces.

Available: Various Rosauers and Yoke’s Pac ‘n Save supermarkets, Pay Less Drug Stores, Harry O’s Fresh Market in Spokane and selected hotel gift shops.
