Monster Trucks Roar Into Town

Get ready for a storm, Spooookannnnnne!

For the Rolling Thuuuunnderrrrrr strikes Thursday! Friday! And Saturday! At the Spooookannnnnne Interstate Fairgrounds!

For some reason, print media just can’t capture the true essence of the flamboyant and roaring voices behind those monster truck commercials you see on TV. At any rate, the fairgrounds will be the muddy playground for the giant monster trucks today through Saturday.

Several popular names in monster truck driving - “Bearfoot,” “The Undertaker” and “Awesome Kong” - will go head-to-head in a drag race, squashing, crumbling and consuming old jalopies.

Other featured events include a demolition derby and the Tuff Truck Competition. During the latter, local truck enthusiasts will test their four-by-fours on a grueling obstacle course of mud, logs and more.

All shows are at 8 p.m. and last up to three hours. Advance tickets are $13.50 for adults and $5.50 for kids 3-12 and are available at all G&B Select-a-Seat outlets or by calling 325-SEAT. It’s $7.50 for kids at the gate (adult tickets are still $13.50). Children 2 and under are admitted free.
