Conductor Jung-Ho Pak will make his Spokane debut Sunday as the Spokane Symphony’s new associate conductor. Pak and the symphony will be joined by a familiar name, Stephen Drury, Spokane-born pianist, in Mozart’s Piano Concerto in A major.

The “Totally Mozart” program will also have Pak conducting the orchestra in Mozart’s Divertimento in D major (K. 251) and his famous Symphony in G minor (K. 550).

Pak is currently associate conductor of the San Diego Symphony and music director of both the Diablo Ballet and the International Chamber Orchestra.

Drury, who began his musical life here as a student of Margaret Ott, now teaches at the New England Conservatory in Boston. Drury is one of the world’s foremost proponents of avant-garde compositions, but he is outstanding as well in the classical and romantic repertoire.

The Spokane Symphony concert at The Met begins at 3 p.m.; it will be repeated Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
