Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: My husband and I found the perfect solution to the early birds who invade weekend garage sales. These bargain-hunters are usually professionals who just want to get a head start, and they impose not only on the shoppers who follow the rules but they also inconvenience the sellers.

Here is my tip. Each night before the sale, park a vehicle in a direction which will block the driveway and the garage area. Place a large sign in each window stating regular business hours and requesting NO EARLY BIRDS, PLEASE.

It’s a rare bird who will cross over this line! It works.
