The annual Native American Awareness Week at Eastern Washington University kicks off Monday with a talk by Roger Jack at noon in the EWU Women’s Center, Monroe Hall, Room 114.

Jack, a graduate of EWU, teaches at the Paschal Sherman Indian School in Omak, Wash.

Following the talk, the group will go to the Longhouse, where Jack and Salish language instructor Pauline Flett will speak.

Other events during the week:

Tuesday - a talk about adolescent alcholism, noon in the EWU Pence Union Building, and a stickgame demonstration, noon-2:30 p.m. in the Longhouse.

Wednesday - a talk about the newspaper Indian Country Today by Danyelle Robinson, noon at the EWU PUB.

Thursday - a talk about completing college degree programs, 11 a.m. at the EWU PUB.

April 11 - a talk about holistic health, 11 a.m., and a talk about wolf restoration in the national forests, noon; both in the EWU PUB. Storytelling about the wolf will begin at 7 p.m. in the EWU Senior Lounge.

April 12 - Powwow, 1 p.m. at Fischer Auditorium followed by a feast at 5 p.m. and resumption of the powwow at 7 p.m.
