A professionally taught 16-hour wilderness first aid course is scheduled in Spokane March 21-21 through the city Parks and Recreation Department.

The course is designed for people who spend time in remote areas where dialing 911 is not an emergency option.

The course will be taught by professional instructors from the Maine-based Wilderness Medical Associates. Cost is $129. Info: 625-6200.

An intensive 72-hour Wilderness First Responder backcountry medicine course will be taught through the Spokane Parks and Recreation Dept. in June. Info: 625-6200.
