Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: This is for brownie-loving people who just can’t wait: To cut warm brownies, use a rubber spatula. Works great! - Jackie Leder, Houston

Dear Heloise: When grandkids visit and want to help in the kitchen, I pull out a drawer (according to height of child) and set the bowl that needs to be stirred in the drawer. The sides of the drawer help to secure the bowl and the drawer is just the right height for easy stirring. - Marla Reilly

Dear Heloise: I was doing some garden work, mulching around my flowers. I was using regular garden gloves, which are too bulky for me. I went into the house and found thin plastic gloves, 10 to a package, and they worked fine. No stains on my hands and I threw them away afterward. They were inexpensive. - Marilyn DeWitt, Washington, Pa.
