Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I have a mobile home, which has a garden bathtub in the master bathroom. It is deep (12 inches, in fact).

The rubber drain stopper that came with it broke, so I bought a new one that had a bead chain attached. I went to my tackle box, added a swivel and a red-and-white bobber to the end of the chain. Now I can find the stopper when I want to drain the tub. No more searching underwater. I just grab the chain at the bobber and pull.

Since the swivel and the bobber are designed to be underwater, I don’t have to worry about rust or corrosion. - Cliff Sees, West Columbia, S.C.
