THE SLICE

When camcorders were inescapable not so long ago, it appeared that little kids of that era were destined to be the most-photographed generation ever.

Then came cell-phone cameras. Now we have children more or less on stage 24/7.

This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Ask grandparents who look at e-mail. There is demand for these snapshots.

Still, you have to wonder if we are producing a generation of models.

The other day at the MAC, a girl who looked to be about 4 was staring up at the big T. rex replica. She heard her name being called and she knew just what to do. She spun around and flashed a practiced smile.

Then, a split-second after the picture had been taken, she relaxed her face and turned back to the dinosaur.
