Fourth Annual Hemingway Festival - Tuesday-Thursday. Ernest Hemingway’s outsized life and terse writing style are recognized globally. The festival celebrates Hemingway, his well-known love for Idaho and the university’s longstanding publication of the scholarly journal, The Hemingway Review. Events include Hemingway Foundation/PEN award-winning author Teju Cole reading from his novel Open City on Tuesday, 7:30 p.m. at the Kenworthy Performing Arts Center; a presentation by Hemingway scholar Sandra Spanier, editor of the Hemingway Letters Project, on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Pritchard Art Gallery; a Hemingway-inspired feast and cocktail hour catered by The Black Cypress at the 1912 Center in Moscow on Wednesday, 4:30; and a free screening of the Woody Allen film, “Midnight in Paris” – a movie featuring Hemingway’s Paris – at the Kenworthy Performing Arts Center on Thursday at 7 p.m. Following the film will be a festival author meet-and-greet with live jazz and a festival book fair, Thursday at 9 p.m., BookPeople.
