In brief: Free consultation at foot clinic Tuesday

SPOKANE VALLEY – The Foot and Ankle Clinic of Spokane, 205 N. University Road, will have a free clinic foot day on Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Visitors can receive a free consultation, foot and/or arterial screening, an X-ray and, if needed, treatment for a foot-related injury. Medical equipment, shoes and other supplies will also be for sale. During the free event no insurance information will be requested and appointments are not needed.

Attendees can also bring in slightly used shoes and socks to donate to those in need.

Tickets available for annual holiday ball

LIBERTY LAKE – Tickets are now on sale for the 14th annual Liberty Lake Holiday Ball. The ball will be Dec. 8 at the Davenport Hotel, from 5 p.m. to midnight.

The evening will feature a champagne reception, silent and live auctions, a three-course meal, live music and dancing.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Liberty Lake Friends of Pavillion Park, a nonprofit group that sponsors a free summer concert series, movies in the park, scholarships, an annual fun run, the Labor Day weekend Spokane Symphony concert and Shakespeare in the Park.

Tree lighting Friday features Santa Claus

DOWNTOWN – River Park Square will kick-off the holiday season with the annual tree lighting ceremony on Friday. Santa Claus and his elves will help light the 50-foot tree with more than 10,000 LED lights at 7 p.m.

The festivities will start at 6:30 p.m. with hot chocolate, candy canes and face-painting.
