For more music, pack a picnic and head to Post Falls

Conor Bourgal and Changing Colors perform Saturday.

Here’s another summer concert event to add to your ever-growing roster: The Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center in Post Falls will host its first outdoor music festival on Saturday at Kiwanis Park.

Local acoustic duo Vinyl Instinct will be on hand to perform, and Colorado band the Changing Colors will headline. Led by frontman Conor Bourgal, their sparse, morose blend of folk and Americana recalls the likes of Iron and Wine and Bon Iver. In May the group released its second album, “Joan and the King,” a follow-up to 2008’s “Ghost of Red Mountain.”

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring their own chairs, blankets and picnic baskets. Beer and wine will be available for sale at the outdoor beer garden.
