Dutch chef will visit, cook at Whitworth University

A Dutch chef is slated to visit Whitworth University on Thursday and Friday.

Immanuel Van de Fliert will be on campus through Sodexo’s Global Chef program, which provides monthlong residencies for the company’s top chefs to share authentic international cuisine with students, faculty and staff.

Sodexo is the dining services management company that oversees campus dining and catering at the university.

Van de Fliert is a Sodexo corporate chef in Amsterdam.

At Whitworth, he will prepare and discuss classic Dutch dishes as well as demonstrate meal preparation.

Dishes include beschonken champignons met kruidensaus, or drunken mushrooms, fried mushrooms in beer batter and herb sauce; kabeljauwfilet met kaas-kruidenkorst, wortel, aardappelkroketjes, or cod with cheese and herb crust, carrots and potato croquettes; and poffertjes met aardbeienroom en poedersuiker, or tiny pancakes with strawberry cream and icing sugar.
