There’s something for everyone at Liberty Lake’s Barefoot in the Park.

The former Liberty Lake Days has been combined with the Barefoot 3v3 Soccer tournament, “making one big powerhouse event,” said Amanda Tainio, a Liberty Lake city planner.

Today is the Friday Night Bash, with the Ryan Larsen Band, dancing and a car show. There will also be barefoot soccer demonstrations and a run.

On Saturday, the 3-on-3 barefoot soccer tournament starts. Registration is closed, but “just watching the 3-on-3 barefoot soccer is a blast,” said Michelle Griffin, the city’s parks and recreation coordinator.

If you’re more of a doer than a watcher, there’s bubble ball and foot golf. Both are variations on soccer, with bubble ball players wearing giant, inflatable bubbles and foot golfers kicking a ball to holes on a course.

Foot golf, which costs $5 at Trailhead Golf Course, is a bit of an experiment for the city. If the feedback is favorable, the city will keep programming it, Tainio said.

There will also be a golf cart show and shine, a pie-eating contest, petting zoo, carnival games and a historical display. Saturday evening finishes with Liberty Lake’s Got Talent and a free outdoor screening of “Big Hero 6.”

Barefoot soccer and bubble ball continue Sunday.

Throughout the weekend there will be inflatable amusements and the Taste of Liberty Lake, featuring local food vendors.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun for families,” Griffin said.
