Spokane scleroderma walk June 20

The Spokane Scleroderma Support Group is having an awareness and fundraiser walk June 20 at the Mirabeau Park Complex from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Also to honor Scleroderma Awareness Month, the Steam Plant will light its stacks to bring awareness June 15 from 5:30 to 6 p.m.

Scleroderma is an auto-immune disease that can cause the skin to harden.

The “Walk Into the Future” event is in conjunction with the Seattle area Evergreen Chapter that is also having a walk. Participants will walk in honor or memory of loved ones affected by scleroderma. The event raises money for research to find a cause and cure.

The Spokane walk is at 13500 E. Mirabeau Parkway, Spokane Valley. For more information or to register, go to www.scleroderma.org and locate the Washington state chapter.

For more information, contact Liz Hughes at (206) 420-6640 or email WAchapter@ scleroderma.org.
