Marjorie Thompson Spears

Marjorie Thompson Spears celebrated her 100th birthday with a reception in the Fireside Room at Fairfield Care in Fairfield on May 23.
She was born May 28, 1915, in Minneapolis. She lives in Fairfield and has lived in Eastern Washington for 39 years.
Spears met her husband, Gordon Spears, in Miles City, Montana. They were married for 65 years. Gordon died in 2002.
Spears spent many years as a wife and homemaker. She credits her longevity to healthy eating habits and a happy marriage.
She said the most memorable moment in history in the past 100 years was the moon landing.
Spears has three children: Lee Spears, of Miles City, Montana; Lynn Spears Schafer, of Latah; and Carol Spears Raymond, of Forsyth, Montana. She also has four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
