Rapper, reality television star and marijuana advocate Snoop Dogg will make a pit stop at one of Spokane’s pot shops Wednesday ahead of a concert in the Tri-Cities.

Snoop Dogg, aka Cordozar Calvin Broadus, Jr., will appear at Royal’s Cannabis, 7115 N. Division St., from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday for pictures with customers 21 and up, store manager Jane Marlow said Tuesday.

“They called us, and said we were recommended,” Marlow said. “Which we were excited about.”

Snoop Dogg, who earned critical and commercial acclaim in the early 1990s in collaborations with fellow Southern California rap artist Dr. Dre, has long been outspoken about his marijuana use, appearing in a cameo in the 1998 comedy “Half Baked” as a stoner who overstays his welcome. In 2015, he became a minority stakeholder in a company called “Eaze” that delivered cannabis to customers in California and has since been involved in the development of marijuana products under the label “Leafs by Snoop.”

The artist is scheduled to appear in concert later Wednesday at the Toyota Center in Kennewick, followed by an appearance Thursday at the Paramount Theater in Seattle as part of his Puff Puff Pass Tour Part 2.

Marlow said Snoop Dogg is scheduled to be at the store for an hour, but may stay longer “if he’s having fun.” The business is asking visitors to bring a clean pair of socks to donate to Blessings Under the Bridge, a local homeless assistance charity. Royal’s Cannabis is located at 7115 N. Division St.

Tickets are not required for the Wednesday event, but shop patrons must be 21 years or older.
