Snowshoeing at Mount Spokane detailed by expert

Snowshoeing routes at Mount Spokane State Park will be detailed in a program by a local expert in a program at 6 p.m. on Feb. 4 at Mountain Gear retail store, 2002 N. Division St.

Cris Currie, author of Mount Spokane State Park: A Users Guide, has been intimately involved with virtually every trail on the mountain as the president of the Friends of Mount Spokane State Park since 1998, and a founding member of the park advisory committee.

Currie, who lives near the mountain, has put his muscle flagging and building many of the park’s trails. Park managers can count him among the first volunteers to help clear trails in emergencies such as Windstorm, and he also is among the first to be making tracks in fresh snow on the mountain.

Space is limited for the presentation. Secure a spot by picking up a free ticket at Mountain Gear.
