Duck hunter drowns in Columbia River boating accident

Associated Press

PASCO, Wash. – A Kennewick father of two was identified as the victim of a weekend duck hunting accident in Pasco, Washington.

The Tri-City Herald reports Frank Donangelo had just arrived on Indian Island with a friend shortly before 10:15 a.m. Saturday, the opening day of the duck hunting season.

They were setting up on the Columbia River island near Sacajawea State Park when their boat began floating away.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says 31-year-old Donangelo tried to grab it and couldn’t and was heading back to shore when he slipped under the water.

He was found about 25 minutes later and rushed to Kadlec Regional Medical Center, but could not be revived.
