Second Harvest, Chad White pair up for fundraiser

The Kitchen at Second Harvest is hosting a Kitchen Party with chef Chad White on Tuesday night.

Second Harvest, founded in 1971, distributes more than 2 million pounds of food each month through 250 food banks to help some 55,000 people in need in 26 counties in Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

White returned to his hometown of Spokane in December after appearing as a contestant on Bravo TV’s “Top Chef” and running restaurants in San Diego and Tijuana. He recently opened Zona Blanca ceviche counter in downtown Spokane.

White will be preparing ceviche for the event, which will be paired with beer or cocktails.

The fundraiser takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 1234 E. Front Ave. There’s a suggested minimum donation of $125 per person for the event.

RSVP at 2-harvest.org/KitchenPartyJune28, or call community relations manager Julie Humphreys at (509) 252-6252.
