Joseph’s Grainery in Colfax is hosting its third annual Baronesse Barley Harvest Day on Saturday, Aug. 18, and everyone’s invited.

The event is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required. Organizers need those RSVPs because everyone who comes gets a commemorative pint glass.

The event features samples of beer and spirits made from Baronesse barley as well as a live band, a new home brew competition and the chance to see combines harvesting barley nearby.

Guests get to meet the farmer and maltster as well as brewers and distillers at the event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and takes place in a barley field about 10 miles north of Colfax. Driving directions will be emailed to registrants a few days prior.
