SIFF 2022: Enjoy it from your own living room
Last night (Thursday) was the opening night for the 2022 Seattle International Film Festiva l. This year marks the festival’s 48th meeting.
Like most of you, I didn’t make the scene. I used to, annually. But in recent years, especially over the past two years (duh), I haven’t gone to the trouble. Driving in Seattle, paying the inflated prices for someplace to stay – even if I do score media credentials – just doesn’t seem worth the effort.
So it’s a good thing that, as the SIFF website proclaims, this year’s event “will be a hybrid experience, with films screened at SIFF theaters and venues throughout the city as well as virtually on the SIFF Channel.”
You can purchase films individually, or buy a 6-pack, which for $75 ($63 for SIFF members) are “redeemable for any regularly priced in-person or streaming Festival film screening.”
Most if not all of the questions you might have will be answered here .
SIFF 2022, which will run through the 24th, will feature what The Stranger describes as a “modest 262 films.” While far fewer than the festival’s typical 400 or so offerings, it’s still sizeable.
Whether in person or online, SIFF is always worthy for Northwest movie fans to check out.
