Idaho delegation backs Kotek nomination for DOE assistant secty for nukes

All four members of Idaho’s congressional delegation have come together today to support President Obama’s nomination of John Kotek of Idaho to be assistant secretary for nuclear energy at the U.S. Department of Energy. The four – Sens. Mike Crapo and Jim Risch and Reps. Mike Simpson and Raul Labrador, all Republicans – issued this joint statement:

“We congratulate John on his nomination to be the permanent Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Energy, a position he has been holding on an interim basis for several months. In addition to his deep Idaho roots, John’s service as a deputy manager for DOE in Idaho has solidified his understanding and appreciation of the research being conducted at Idaho National Laboratory—the nation’s lead nuclear research facility.  We have enjoyed a strong working relationship with John over many years and he is extremely qualified for this position.”
