Second CEC motion fails on 9-9 tie

Rep. Stephen Hartgen’s motion for 3 percent raises for state employees - 2 percent of that based on merit, and 1 percent across the board - has failed on a tied 9-9 vote.

Those voting yes were Sens. Heider, Rice, Patrick and Thayn; and Reps. Hartgen, Holtzclaw, Loertscher, Mendive, and Anderson.

Those voting no were Sens. Martin, Lakey, Guthrie, Schmidt, and Ward-Engelking; and Reps. Anderst, Romrell, King, and Rudolph.
