Huckleberries Online

Help Name Jim Hagengrubler’s Enviro Blog

Colleague Jim Hagengruber, our environmental wunderkind, is about to begin compiling an environmental blog for the SR. He sez it's "meant to be a one-stop blog shop for anything to do with how we use/enjoy/abuse our region's land, water and air." Also: "Mostly, I want it to be a clearinghouse for ideas and news about the environment. This could be everything from the minutia (the latest wildfire-caused trail closure? The best spot to watch eagles chow on kokanee?) to hot-button issues of logging, aquifer pollution or the Priest Lake caribou fight. I'm hoping it will be a place for readers to share ideas, viewpoints and feedback."

Now, Jim describes the problem: "We've had a hard time choosing a name for the blog. I liked Mud Blogging (combination of dirt, water and ideas), but was told this was too obscure. Chainsaw Love was also axed. So was Granola Head (I prefer frosted mini-wheats or, after payday, chicken fried steak and eggs). The winner of the name entry will have their choice of prize: either a box of free-range, semi-organic firewood (chainsawed and hand-split by me) or a sack of organic, hand-picked apples, which I hope to pluck this weekend from the trees at the Talache Apple Company."

DFO: So, name away. The winner of this little handy-dandy naming contest can enjoy hand-split firewood or a sack of organic, handpicked apples.

Question: Anyone?
