OTV: Enough With ‘Attack’ Already

OrangeTV: One (of many) irritating recurring themes I’ve noticed about Mary and her cronies (see Darth Maul above) is misuse of the word “attack” for dramatic effect. Someone doesn’t like their favorite pop song on 1979, it’s an ATTACK! Someone gives them half a side-eye glance, it’s an ATTACK! Someone does a little deep research and reports factual findings they might not agree with, it’s an ATTACK! So only in their special little bizarro world would this perfectly polite and appropriate question of Mr. Gookin be viewed as an “attack”. They seem to use this method quite a bit when they have no actual comeback or argument and they know that it will evoke some kind of crusty old emotional response out of the non-thinking sheeple who support them. As usual, nothing of real substance, just hollow drama.

Question: Are we playing fast and loose with the word "attack" for dramatic effect & emotional response?
