Petersen: It Was Time To Go
Chris Petersen was introduced as the University of Washington's new head football coach at a press conference today in Seattle. On his departure from Boise State after incredible success - and after years of spurning offers from other schools - Petersen said, “It was just time. We've done some really good things there and I think for me to take the next step as a coach, as a teacher and a person to grow, I needed to take that next step.” Washington athletic director Scott Woodward said Petersen was the only one offered the job; he'll make $18 million in guaranteed compensation as part of his five-year agreement with available bonuses that could add another $1 million per season/Betsy Russell, Eye on Boise.
