Detroit come to mind? We are quite happy with the place we have enjoyed for generations, thanks for trying to bring your stellar influences and awesome opinions on how we should live. DFO: The elected official most responsible for the transformation of modern Coeur d'Alene is Mayor Sandi Bloem, a native with deep roots in the community who is roundly denounced by uber-conservatives as a "librul." If the conservatives had there way here, we wouldn't have the new library, Kroc Center or education corridor. Democrats like Art Manley and Scott Reed were responsible for saving Tubbs Hill. On the private side, Duane Hagadone and John Stone have made huge contributions to the lake front. Maybe all political factions have contributed to this community?
