Priest Lake Still Open

Message on Facebook from Hill’s Resort in Priest Lake:

“There are lots of rumors flying at the lake regarding the extreme fire danger and fires that are currently burning. At this point, the sky is smoky over the lake. There is NO evacuation order in effect for Priest Lake. There is a stage 1 evac order up the Bear Paw Road, mile marker 9ish and stage 2 up Squa Valley Road near the fire. The stages are stage 1: be ready, be prepared — stage 2. get set, gather valuables etc. stage 3 — go — leave because the danger is not to high to remain. Again, there is NO evac order inplace for Priest Lake. Guests are playing pickleball, boating, playing volleyball, making memories.”
