Judge Richard Magnuson, RIP

David Bond's Facebook remembrances of former District Judge Richard Magnuson:

"Judge Richard Magnuson died Monday morning. He was as much our local historian as he was part of our history. I will miss our coffee mornings together and the yarns he could spin. as a lawyer, historian, prosecutor and judge. As a jurist, he could write rulings with the best. My favourite phrase of his was, "The Legislature, in its wisdom," which was Dick's way of saying, "I'm about to drop a great big bag of (manure) on you idiots." His book, "Coeur d'Alene Diary," chronicled the early mining days here. He said, in his inscription on my copy, was that it was his love letter to Wallace. RIP, Judge."
