GU scores last 5 points to edge Grizzlies

Gonzaga forward Domantas Sabonis (11) shoots over Montana during the second half of a college basketball game on Tuesday, Dec 8, 2015, at McCarthey Athletic Center in Spokane, Wash. (Tyler Tjomsland / The Spokesman-Review)

Good evening after a wind-blown drive home.

The Zags encountered their share of turbulence, some of it self generated, but landed a hard-fought victory over visiting Montana 61-58 Tuesday. Kyle Wiltjer and Domantas Sabonis each had 16 points. The key shot was a Josh Perkins’ jumper with 38 seconds left after Sabonis had tipped a rebound out to a GU teammate.

Here’s my game story and Tyler Tjomsland’s photo gallery . Back in the a.m. with a day-after post.
