Madam Im Adam

By now, some of you parents have discovered what I did: “Holes” is a weird cross between childrens’ story and adult themes. The story is basically just a coming-of-age tale, one about a boy named Stanley Yelnats (can you say palindrome?), but it contains allusions to violence (including a virtual lynching) that just don’t fit with the overall supposedly light tone. Just what director Andrew Davis (“Collateral Damage”) was thinking is hard to figure.
