No more Mr. and Mrs. polite couple

If you ever catch “Movies 101,” the movie-themed Spokane Public Radio show that I do every week with my wife, Mary Pat Treuthart, and KPBX critic Bob Glatzer , you may notice that Mary Pat is fully capable of holding her own.

Not everyone can hold ground in the face of such opinionated, bullheaded judges of cinema quality as Bob and I, especially someone such as Mary Pat who doesn’t consider herself a film scholar. She is a lawyer, however, a law professor at Gonzaga University no less, so it shouldn’t come as that big a surprise that she acquits herself well on a regular basis.

If you tune in this week’s show (8 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Saturday on FM 91.9 KSFC, 6:30 p.m. Friday on FM 91.1 KPBX), you’ll see Mary Pat at her best.

For some strange reason, she actually likes Todd Haynes’ film “Far From Heaven.” Listen in and she’ll be glad to explain why.
